MARY-ELLEN BATES

Mary-Ellen Bates, born Birmingham, Alabama, November 9, 1972; admitted to the Alabama bar 1998.  Mary-Ellen attended the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she graduated magna cum laude receiving her Juris Doctriate in May 1998.  She attended Auburn University obtaining a Bacherlor of Arts degree in 1994.  During her tenure at Auburn she was a Phi Eta Signma; and Pi Delta Pi.

Mary Ellen is a member of  the following organizations:  Alabama State Bar, 1998-present; Association of Trial Lawyers of America, 2000-2007; American Bar Association, 2000-2006; Birmingham Bar Association, 1999-present; Budget Committee Member, 2002; Young Lawyers Association, 1998-2007; Health Care Lawyers Association, 1998-1999.

Mary-Ellen has been involved in many community organizations including the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce; Chamber Hispanic Business Council Legal Advisory Committee, 2001-2003; and past Member of the Board of Directors 5 Points South YMCA.  Mary-Ellen is an adjunct professor at the Birmingham School of Law, where she has taught both Torts and Conflicts of Law.

Mary-Ellen is licensed to practice in the Federal District Courts and State Courts throughout the State of Alabama, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

R. LEA BONE

Lea Bone, born Montgomery, Alabama, September 10, 1967; admitted to Alabama bar 1998.  Lea attended the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she graduated in May 1998 receiving her Juris Doctriate.  She attended Virginia Tech where she graduated cum laude obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995. 

Lea is a member of the following organizations:  Alabama State Bar, 1998-present; Alabama Association of Trial Lawyers 1999-2006; American Bar Association 1999-2006; Birmingham Bar Association, 1998-present; 2005 Municipal Courts Liaison Committee; 2007 Birmingham Bar Association Scholarship Committee

Lea has been involved in many community organizations including the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce; Kiwanis of Metropolitan Birmingham, where she has held many offices including  past president and treasurer; and was a charter board member of the Juris Partner Advisory Forum.  Lea also serves as an adjunct professor at the Birmingham School of Law where she has taught The Fundamentals of Legal Writing and Pleadings and Practice.

Lea is licensed to practice in the Federal District Courts and State Courts throughout the State of Alabama.
